50mm Hooded Twin Wheel Castor - Select Attachment Fitting
Our 50 mm twin wheel castor has a minimalist hood covering the wheels, keeping dust and debris out of sight. The swivelling castor allows for smooth and easy movement in any direction, making it perfect for furniture that needs to be moved over carpeted floors, like beds, TV cabinets, shelves and heaters, to name a few. There is a full range of fitting options to choose from, including a Grip Neck, Threaded Rod, Circlip Pin, UNF Threaded Stem, and the Square Swivel Plate.
Features
Hooded 50mm twin wheel castor with our complete range of attachment fittings to choose from:
- Square Base Plate: This is ideal for furniture and equipment with a thin mounting surface that cannot accommodate a castor and stem system.
- Push-in Stem | Grip Neck: This fitting is perfect for furniture with tube or pipe legs, or furniture legs and frames with minimal mounting space and a thick timber base to secure the socket connection.
- Circlip Fitting: A steel rod with a circlip ring also referred to as a retaining ring provides a very secure hold and additional support against lateral movement.
- Threaded Stem: This fitting is available in three different thread measurements, providing a secure attachment to a thick timber base. One of the benefits of the threaded castor fitting is that it is easy to remove and replace castors if necessary.
- U Bracket Desk Attachment: This fitting is available in 16, 19, and 25 mm wide board fittings.
- 3/8 UNF Threaded Pintle: Used in conjunction with an expanding socket (sold separately or as a set under 'ASSOCIATED ITEMS') that inserts into upright metal tube furniture legs and frames.

Screw Plate Fitting:
- Type: Square base plate for screw fastening
- Application: The square base plate attachment is particularly suited to furniture with a thin mounting surface where a castor and pin stem system cannot be fitted.
- Plate Dimensions: 38mm
- Hole Diameter: 5mm
- Distance Between Hole Centres: 27mm
- Compatible Components*: 8 gauge screws for mounting the baseplate to flat board and timber surfaces.
Grip Neck | Push-In Stem Fitting:
- Type: Push-in grip neck pintle stem #7
- Application: The perfect solution for fastening castor wheels to tube furniture legs on desks, tables, and trollies with minimal mounting space or inserted into furniture and equipment with a thick timber base.
- Compatible Components*: #7 Pintle Sockets
- Round Nylon Sockets for Tube: Product Codes N5, N6, N7, N4, N10, N3, N13, N15 and N17.
- Round Nylon Sockets for Timber: Product Codes N5, N8 and N2.
- Square Nylon Sockets for Tube:Product Codes N1, N9, N14 and N18.
- Metal Grip Neck Socket for Timber: Product Code C730
Circlip Fitting:
- Type: Circlip 5/16" diameter
- Application: A very secure way of fastening castor wheels to chairs, tables, shelves and trollies with minimal mounting space or inserted into furniture and equipment with a thick timber base via an exisitng furniture socket.
- Compatible Components*: Metal N11 timber socket and Nylon N24 timber socket
Screw-In Threaded Stem Fitting:
- Type: Threaded stem - Imperial and metric thread sizes
- Application: The main benefit of castors with a threaded post or stem is their ease of replacement by simply unscrewing. Typically used to fix castor wheels to timber furniture frames on sofas, chairs, beds, and table legs
- Compatible Components*: When replacing existing castor wheels, please enusre the connecting nut in your furniture has a matching thread.
- 5/16 Thread Screw-In Castor = 5/16 Texcert | Insert Nut with Flange, 5/16 bsw thread x 30mm long
- 3/8 Thread Screw-In Castor = 3/8 Texcert | Insert Nut with Flange, 3/8 bsw thread x 20mm long
- M8 Thread Screw-In Castor = M8 Texcert | Insert Nut with Flange, metric M8 thread x 20mm long
- M10 Thread Screw-In Castor = M10 Texcert | Insert Nut with Flange, metric M10 thread x 25mm long
Desk Castor with U bracket:
- Type: 'U' Bracket with cross screw
- Application: 'U' shaped bracket attaches to vertical board such as timber, particle board and MDF on desks and other furniture.
- Sizes | Vertical Board Width:
- 16mm U bracket
- 19mm U bracket
- 25mm U bracket
3/8 UNF Threaded Pintle:
- Type: Threaded stem - 3/8 UNF
- Stem Length: 50mm
- 25mm of the castor's pintle stem is threaded so that the castor can screw into an expanding socket nut
- Application: Used in conjunction with an expanding socket (sold separately or as a set under 'ASSOCIATED ITEMS') that insert into upright metal furniture legs and frames
- Expanding sockets work with a variety of tube sizes, eliminating the need for an exact match.
